Dr. Khan-Farooqi graduated from Stanford University with honors and a BS in Biological Sciences and a minor in Political Science. Dr. Khan-Farooqi worked in a cancer biology research laboratory at Stanford for two years after graduation. His project focused on the role of stem cells and growth factors in protecting the body’s normal tissues from injury during cancer treatment. Dr. Khan-Farooqi attended Stanford Medical School, graduating with an MD in 2000, and found his calling in orthopaedic surgery, particularly in the care of fractures and their after effects. He completed his residency training in Seattle at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center, and affiliated hospitals where he worked with giants in the fields of trauma and foot/ankle surgery. Dr. Khan-Farooqi continued his foot and ankle subspecialty training with a focus on the care of athletes at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C. He and his wife (also an orthopaedic surgeon) have four children. Dr. Khan-Farooqi feels fortunate to have the opportunity to live, work and raise his children in beautiful Aspen, Colo.
